Meet Brigitte: The Study From Home student who switched careers with ITC!

Meet Brigitte, the student who is using Study From Home to make a career change!

It’s not uncommon to spend many years working in one industry only to question if it’s really what you want to do for the rest of your life.

For Study From Home student Brigitte, that’s exactly what happened. She was working in IT and decided it was time to make a change, which eventually led her to us.

We couldn’t be happier that she has trusted us with her continued education, or more excited to see where it takes her! Here’s what Brigitte’s tutor Toni had to say about her journey:

Meet the Study From Home student inspired by another ITC student!

Study From Home student and supermarket employee Savannah Larkin hopes to one day become a flight attendant (and we have no doubt she will achieve that goal!). But her story reminds us of another wonderful student, who was also working full time and dreaming of becoming a flight attendant – and is now doing just that!

In fact, that past student has inspired Savannah to follow in her footsteps (find out who below).

Meet one of the first students to complete the new Online Cabin Crew Course!

Riley is one of the first students to complete the Cabin Crew Online course!

ITC recently announced a selection of new online courses, each designed to offer an introduction to studying travel and tourism, and a first step towards a career in these amazing roles!

One of these courses is the Cabin Crew Online course, which covers how the aviation industry works, what the life of a cabin crew member is like, real-world tips and training for what you need to become a flight attendant, and more.

Riley Slotemaker is one of the first students to complete this course, and his review is shining! We asked him a little more about his experience.

ITC delivers a Customer Service workshop for the Explore Group

ITC is known for offering exceptional qualifications and certifications to high school and college students in New Zealand – but we also often provide workshops for businesses as well.

Recently, we delivered a Customer Service workshop for the Explore Group. The Explore Group is a tourism operator based in Auckland, Bay of Islands and in the Whitsunday Islands Australia that offers incredible cruises and sailing adventures around in these amazing locations.

We first worked with the Explore Group back in 2017, and have continued to help develop their customer service skills ever since.

Meet one of our first Online Course students: Nan!

Our Ground Crew Online course offers an introduction to the many aviation roles available at airports.

ITC recently launched a series of Online Courses. These courses are short introductions to various aspect of travel and tourism, from Cabin Crew Online and Cruise Online to Tour Guiding Online.

These online courses are available for anyone, anywhere in New Zealand. There are no prerequisites and no age limit. They are simply a great way for people to dip their toes into a field of study and see how they might feel about it as a career.

Plus, they’re entirely self-directed, so you can study them online in your own time, at your own pace.

Now, we’re starting to see our first students complete these courses. One of those is Nan, who is currently working as a barista in Auckland and who is hoping to one day work in the aviation industry. She has recently completed the Ground Crew Online course.
