Meet one of the first students to complete the new Online Cabin Crew Course!
ITC recently announced a selection of new online courses, each designed to offer an introduction to studying travel and tourism, and a first step towards a career in these amazing roles!
One of these courses is the Cabin Crew Online course, which covers how the aviation industry works, what the life of a cabin crew member is like, real-world tips and training for what you need to become a flight attendant, and more.
Riley Slotemaker is one of the first students to complete this course, and his review is shining! We asked him a little more about his experience.
Why did you sign up for the online course?
I have always wanted to be a flight attendant ever since my sister in law was a flight attendant with Air New Zealand’s subsidiary Air Nelson on the Q300s. Ever since then it has been my dream job. I decided to sign up to the course to learn more information about the roles and responsibilities of cabin crew so it will hopefully help enhance my chances of securing a position as a flight attendant.
How did you find out about the course?
I was doing some online research about cabin crew courses and ITC’s course was one that looked very thorough and listed all the modules to cover everything that was relevant to the aviation industry that would be very useful.
Do you feel like you’ve learned a lot about what Cabin Crew work involves?
Yes the course was very thorough to prepare me for a career as a flight attendant.
What was your favourite part about the course?
My favourite part of the course was the airport code module with in-depth information explaining why some codes don’t match the airports name and when the codes were officially introduced.
What are your ultimate career goals?
To become a flight attendant with Air New Zealand starting on the regional aircrafts and working my way to the wide bodied international aircrafts, also working my way up the ranks to become a cabin crew manager.
Would you recommend taking an online course to a friend?
Definitely. It’s extremely helpful and all the information is relevant and very useful and very detailed.
