Studying in Auckland

New Zealand is a safe and beautiful country, making it a fantastic place to live and study. Overseas visitors are warmly welcomed into a country that is clean, green, safe and regarded as one of the most picturesque places in the world.

ITC is located in Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city. Auckland is a friendly seaside city in the North Island. Also known as the ‘City of Sails’, Auckland is famous for the impressive array of yachts docked in the harbour. The weather is temperate with little extremes, ranging from an average of 24 degrees in summer to 15 degrees in winter.

With a population of around 1.6 million, Auckland has everything you’d expect from a modern city; great cafes and restaurants, excellent shopping, good transport links and a thriving music and entertainment scene. There’s plenty of events happening all year round, from cultural festivals and sports matches to concerts and theatre.

Yet it’s Auckland’s diverse natural landscape that makes it different from other cities around the world. Home to 48 volcanoes, as well as several lush forests, national parks and white sandy beaches, Auckland attracts people with a love for the outdoors. Take a short drive and you could be hiking, horse riding, surfing or sailing.

Auckland is also incredibly multicultural. At ITC, you will be in a class with local and international students alike, giving you the chance to make new friends of different cultures.  For more information on Auckland, visit the NauMai NZ and Study Auckland websites.

Did you know ITC also offers programs in one other NZ cities?  We also offer a small selection of programs in Whangarei (top of North Island) in partnership with North Tec.  Visit our Whangarei campus page for course details.

ITC is a Signatory to the Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners, so you can enjoy peace of mind that you will be well looked after if you move to New Zealand. We want to ensure our learners know about the code and have a dedicated web page with more information to help. Click here for more information about the code – ITC’s Pastoral Code of Care.
