ITC moves to a four-day study week in 2021

In 2021, ITC will be moving to a four-day study week for better study-life balance and well-being for our students.
In 2021, ITC will be moving to a four-day study week. This means students will only need to be on campus for classes from Monday to Thursday.
Not only that, we have changed our study hours. In 2021, classes will run from 9am until 2.30pm Monday to Thursday (they used to be from 8am to noon, and 1pm to 5pm).
We’ve made this decision based on a number of factors, and we believe all of them mean less stress, more health, and a better balance for our students. (more…)

ITC supported students throughout 2020, ensuring the pandemic didn’t put their studies on hold.
The year 2020 has been a tough one for everyone. Every New Zealander has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic in some way, and even though Aotearoa has pulled through exceedingly well compared with most countries, it doesn’t negate the fact that thousands of Kiwis have struggled this year.
When New Zealand announced it would be heading into Alert Level 4 lockdown, ITC immediately jumped into action. Our biggest goal was to support our students, and ensure they could continue their studies. (more…)

Posted on 11/11/2020 by Hayley Clark
ITC students have recently been attending incredible famils around New Zealand, including this beautiful trip out on the water.
Every year, ITC takes students on famils – familiarisations – that include short trips of non-stop adventure and travel all over New Zealand.
These famils offer students the opportunity to experience some of New Zealand’s best tourism hotspots, take part in adventure activities, see beautiful scenery, and get an up-close-and-personal look at just how everything is run.
These events are not just incredibly fun highlights of the year for students, but a chance to dip their toes into the industry and get a taste for what their future careers might entail. (more…)

Posted on 05/11/2020 by Hayley Clark
Laura Orsbourn studied at ITC with a dream of working at Disney, but not long after she landed her dream job, covid-19 threw her plans into disarray.
“ITC is like a real family. When you move away from home (or graduate from ITC), it doesn’t mean you are not able to ever come back. In fact, students come back years after they graduate to say hi, get further career support and guidance and even re-employment. That’s our promise to our graduates,” Mel Jenkins, Marketing Manager at ITC.
ITC is as much a college for those wishing to enter the travel, tourism, and aviation industries, as it is a supportive family. As Mel speaks about in her quote above, graduation from ITC doesn’t mean the support, advice, and communication stops.
In fact, we recently caught up with graduate Laura Orsbourn, who studied at ITC in order to apply for the Disney College program in the US. Her hard work and skills landed her the job, but it wasn’t long before covid derailed her role and saw her packing her bags for New Zealand.
We chatted to Laura about how she got started, what it was like heading home, and her time at ITC. (more…)

The Fees Free initiative allows many students to study at ITC for free.
At the start of 2018, New Zealand began an initiative that allows citizens and residents to study for one year for FREE. Yet there are still plenty of students who don’t know that their first year of study can be covered by the government!
Here’s a little more about the Fees Free initiative, who’s eligible, what you can study at ITC without paying a cent, and how to apply. (more…)
