“ITC’s long history of consistently working so collaboratively with the airline, travel and tourism industry in New Zealand has led us to being the first point of contact for businesses looking to recruit the future tourism workforce,” says Ceri Jenkins, Key Stakeholder Manager for ITC.
“The combination of these extensive partnerships, quality of teaching and the dedication and hard work of our Employment Consultants, enables us to provide the best service to our students to truly stand by our promises when we first meet our prospective students whilst they are still in school, or in their initial meeting with our course advisor to see which study option is best for them,” he continued.
All this training and dedication leads us to the end of each year where we look back and celebrate our many inspiring students who have gained incredible roles in the travel and tourism industry all over Aotearoa and beyond.News, Student success | Tagged Student success, Work in travel and tourism | Leave a reply

Shania Wheatley is an ITC graduate who moved to Auckland to study with us in 2016 and never looked back.
She landed a job in 2017 and was accepted into the Disney Exchange Program, and like many young graduates in the last few years, the pandemic threw a spanner in the works – but her positive attitude and hard work saw her come out on top.
As we lead up to this year’s Disney Exchange Program, we thought now would be a great time to catch up again and ask about her time with Disney, and if she has any advice for new students.News, Student success | Tagged Disney Exchange Program, Graduate interview, Student success, Study travel and tourism | Leave a reply
Meet the graduate who used her ITC education and the Disney Exchange as a springboard for her business career!Posted on 16/05/2023 by Hayley Clark
We are once again full steam ahead preparing our graduates with their applications for the next Disney Exchange Program opportunity happening in August this year.
Our level 4 & 5 graduates are all so excited to meet the Disney representative who will soon visit to discuss this life changing experience.
To celebrate this amazing opportunity we reached out to a number of ITC graduates who were lucky enough to be a part of the Disney Cultural Exchange. We’re calling this project ‘Adventures after Disney’, and will be following up with where the graduates are now, and how they feel that the exchange impacted their lives and careers.
ITC takes pride in supporting and communicating with graduates over the 26+ years we’ve been in business, this is so exciting for us to once more re-visit our students’ adventures.
To start, we spoke to graduate Emma Morris.News, Student success, Study inspiration | Tagged Disney, Disney Exchange Program, Student success | Leave a reply

As the New Zealand travel and tourism industry gears up for a very busy summer season ahead, we’re seeing our ITC graduates get snapped up by employers practically as they walk out the door from their graduation ceremony. Many before they graduate.
One of those employers is Air New Zealand, which is quickly hiring and training staff across their operations all over the country. We are fortunate to be recognised as a preferred provider for many airlines and tourism organisations. Our highly skilled graduates are sought after by the industry.
For us, these job offers are hugely exciting, as many of our graduates begin studying with us with the goal of working for this renowned and award-winning airline. To see students land their dream jobs immediately is everything we could hope for as an education provider.
One of these graduates is Ruby Cowie, a Study From Home graduate who has been dreaming of working with Air New Zealand since she was 10 years old. We reached out to Ruby to have a quick chat about the application process and her advice for other students.Airline, News, Student success | Tagged Air New Zealand, Cabin Crew, Student success |
Every day, students at ITC and Study From Home impress our tutors and staff. But every now and then, we see a student go above and beyond, or make incredible achievements that blow us all away.
Recently, ITC tutor Inder Singh highlighted the inspirational journey of his student Mele Feiloakitau. Inder said that Mele has “gone the extra mile and surprised me with her admirable hard work”.
Any student who impresses a tutor that much is worth celebrating, so here’s a little more about Mele’s success story.News, Student success | Tagged Disney Cultural Exchange, Inspirational students, Student success |

Meet Kahurangi Bray: The ITC student working at one of New Zealand’s best (and most important) attractionsPosted on 15/12/2021 by Hayley Clark
Kahurangi Bray has been studying level 4 with ITC, but this summer, she had the opportunity to work at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.
She hadn’t quite finished her level 4 studies, so she took ITC’s flexible study option and has moved to our online platform, Study From Home, to allow her to finish the course.
This meant that she got to kick off her career in tourism and travel as soon as the opportunity arose, while also completing her qualifications. Everyone at ITC is incredibly proud of Kahu, and excited to see her take this first step.
So of course, we got in touch for an interview! (more…)Posted in News, Student success | Tagged Employment, Student interview, Student success, Study From Home, Study travel and tourism |
ITC doesn’t have thousands of students every year, or lecture theatres packed with hundreds of students.
At ITC, our tutors know every student by name, and throughout the course of study, get to know their students and care about them. That’s one of the biggest benefits of being a tertiary education provider on a smaller scale – our students are so much more than just numbers.
In fact, it’s this genuine relationship we have with students that led to us starting our postcard initiative! (more…)Posted in News, Student success | Tagged ITC family, Student success, Study travel and tourism | Leave a reply
