ITC hosts an incredibly successful Industry Expo at Auckland City Campus

The team from Jetconnect with students at our Industry Expo.
On Wednesday August 31, we held an Industry Expo at our Auckland City Campus, and it was a monumental success.
This special annual event is a fantastic opportunity for both students and tourism employers, and we’re so excited to have seen such a great turnout and incredible connections made on the day.

We’re excited to announce some of our first scholarship winners this year! Pictured here: Students from Kaitaia College with tutor Mel.
In June, we once again opened applications for our fantastic scholarship programme. This programme offers a number of full-time students attending ITC or Study From Home the chance to have up to $5,600 of their course fees completely covered by us.
This is our way of supporting both our hard-working students, and the industry we love that so desperately needs more qualified and passionate staff.
And so far, we’re over the moon to announce we have already awarded SEVEN scholarships to students. We had many excellent applications, but here are a few words from each of our winners so far about why they want to study with us and what their ultimate goals are.

Auckland Airport recently held a recruitment fair, where there were more than 3,000 jobs up for grabs.
In late July, Auckland Airport opened its doors in a massive recruitment fair. There were over 3,000 jobs up for grabs, and more than 4,000 people attended the event.
This recruitment fair was at just at the right time, only a day before the border finally officially opened fully once again. Much like the rest of the tourism and travel companies around New Zealand, Auckland Airport was looking to bring on new staff to get ready for the rush of tourists expected this summer.
Here’s a little more about the recruitment day, and why it means it’s such a good time to study travel and tourism!

Thinking of becoming a flight attendant? ITC courses could help make your dream come true!
Being a flight attendant means travelling all the time, meeting new people, exploring new places, and being part of people’s incredible journeys and holidays. It’s no wonder so many people dream of becoming flight attendants here in New Zealand and around the world!
Many students who study with ITC and Study From Home go on to become cabin crew, so here’s a little more about how we prepare our students for these roles.

Now, we’re counting down the minutes until four of our wonderful graduates head overseas to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Here’s a little more about the program and the four amazing students soon to be packing their bags for the trip.

To help with demand for staff, ITC is launching two new start dates for our level 3 courses this year.
Here at ITC, we’ve spent the entire past year talking about how the travel and tourism industry will desperately need qualified workers as soon as the borders reopen.
Now that we’re seeing those staff shortages really kicking in, we want to do everything we can to help the industry. We know the industry needs us, as a provider of valuable travel and tourism qualifications, to help prepare the next generation of workers.
Due to the demand of people wanting to study tourism and the fact we want to help our industry, ITC has decided to add two new start dates for our Auckland City and Botany Campuses.

ITC to host an ECC Japanese College in September
Posted on 27/07/2022 by Hayley Clark
ITC is looking forward to hosting students from an ECC Japanese college in September.
ITC is proud of our connections. We stay in touch with students and support them long after they graduate, we have a number of contacts in leading tourism and travel providers around the country, and importantly, we also maintain contacts with related companies overseas.
One of those contacts is Gina & Partners, an agency that helps students to study abroad and find working holidays in New Zealand, and they have recently asked if we would help to host students from an ECC Japanese College in September.
So now, ITC is looking forward to hosting students from an ECC Japanese College in September!

Meet Zoe, the ITC graduate who has worked her way up in an Auckland hotel, and is now looking to hire recent graduates!
Zoe Daugulis graduated from ITC in 2015, and started working in a hotel in Auckland’s CBD soon after.
She recently reached out to ITC to let us know that not only is her hotel now looking for new graduates to hire for various positions, but she’s the one doing the hiring! She has worked her way up through the hotel and had an incredible story to share, so of course we had to learn more.
Zoe kindly took some time out of her very busy schedule to answer our questions! (more…)

ITC has close connections with ZipTrek Ecotours – one of many industry brands that support our ITC Scholarships.
ITC and Study From Home scholarships offer learners the chance to have some or all of their certification fees covered by us.
There are multiple scholarships up for grabs, and all of them will help students to gain valuable qualifications that will help to get them fantastic roles in the travel and tourism industry. And right now, the travel and tourism industry is absolutely desperate for qualified staff. We can see it in the number of open positions available, and simply by talking to our many industry contacts.
In fact, we recently asked some of our contacts about their opinions on our scholarships and what they mean for the industry. Here’s what some of them had to say.
