Meet the graduate who went from ‘no direction in life’ to inflight trainer and customer service manager!

Scarlett Westall is an ITC graduate with an impressive career journey – and she’s only 6 years in!

It’s one thing to catch up with students shortly after they’ve graduated, but we also love to catch up with graduates years later to see how their journey is going. And more often than not, they have incredible, inspiring tales to share!

That’s exactly the case with Scarlett Westall, a past ITC student who is six years into her career, and has already made huge progress. What’s even more impressive is that she had no idea what to do with her career after high school, then discovered us at ITC, and the rest is history.

Cruise ship turnaround volunteering leads to job offers for two ITC students

We recently shared a story about ITC students who had volunteered to help out with cruise ship turnarounds. These kinds of opportunities are common for our students and graduates – and it’s also common for those volunteering roles to lead to greater things.

That’s been the case once again for Mayur and Sesilia from our Botany campus!

Meet the student who learned first-hand about the diverse range of roles in the tourism industry

Ryan Mackenzie began at ITC planning to become a flight attendant, but his journey has led him elsewhere!’

Like many ITC students, Ryan Mackenzie came to ITC with plans to work as a flight attendant. Yet while many of our students do go on to become cabin crew, Ryan’s path eventually led him elsewhere, highlighting just how many different roles and paths are available to those with industry-leading travel and tourism qualifications!

ITC students make a splash volunteering at the Brand USA Agent Expo

ITC students at the Brand USA expo.

The Brand USA Agent Expo was hosted in Auckland on the 10th of February this year, and it was a huge success with several hundred travel agents and over 40 exhibitors from the USA for the event.

This is a chance for US partners to reach key trade contacts in the New Zealand travel industry, and it takes a huge amount of work to pull together.

ITC graduate Leandri’s journey has been incredible so far. Hear what she’s been up to!

The team at ITC is often as much a family as it is a college, as we stay in touch with our students and cheer on their successes as they gain experience in the industry and travel around the world.

We recently heard from an Auckland City Campus student, Leandri. Leandri was initially upset about not getting her dream job elsewhere, but ITC Employment Consultant Sarndra suggested an internship with International Working Holidays.

“We made some calls and the rest is history!”, explained Sarndra.

Catching up with Shaz: An inspiring update with an ITC grad!

We often (ok, endlessly!) talk about how amazing it is to work in the travel and tourism industry. We write blogs and social media posts about all the places you can go and all the people you can meet when you study with ITC before heading out into the world.

And every now and then, we catch up with a past student who is living that unbelievable lifestyle.

Today, that’s Shaz Beardsmore, a graduate that we last caught up with seven years ago as they were doing the Disney Cultural Exchange Program and making big plans for the future.

“There’s just so much to explore, it’s hard to know where my travel list ends!” they said.

So when we recently heard from Shaz, we knew we had to share their updated travels and adventures!

We love tourism, and we’re so proud to congratulate our many graduates who have already found amazing roles in the industry this year!
