ITC students make a splash volunteering at the Brand USA Agent Expo

ITC students at the Brand USA expo.
The Brand USA Agent Expo was hosted in Auckland on the 10th of February this year, and it was a huge success with several hundred travel agents and over 40 exhibitors from the USA for the event.
This is a chance for US partners to reach key trade contacts in the New Zealand travel industry, and it takes a huge amount of work to pull together.
ITC students get involved
ITC students are often sought after for such events due to the calibre of our students; their hard work, passion for the industry, and great communication skills.
We were approached to ask students to volunteer and help out on the day. Sam, Islay and Leilani from our Botany Campus jumped at the opportunity. These three students were amongst professional agents, key suppliers and airlines, making it a great opportunity for them not just to learn some great skills, but to meet industry contacts as well.
At ITC, our Employment Consultant helps to enhance our students’ careers during their studies with voluntary opportunities such as this. It’s all about building their CV and skills so they can be the best employee in our industry when they graduate.
Feedback from Brand USA
Sarndra was absolutely delighted to receive positive feedback from Elaine Patton, who represents Brand USA in NZ and Australia and from Sam, one of our ITC students.
“Your students were an amazing help at the Brand USA Expo last week. They packed 300 expo bags, helped set up the Brand USA expo booth and activation, helped set up the registration desk and then helped check in all the attendees, handed out expo bags and name tags. Thank you so much, your students were very friendly, reliable and proactive – we couldn’t believe how onto it they were. Thank you again so much!” – Elaine
Sam went on to say “It was genuinely so amazing to see the ins and outs of the event and it was so nice to be a part of the set up and being able to learn and share information to heaps of different audiences. I would 100% do more volunteer work again. Definitely a fun and interesting experience.”
ITC is looking forward to being part of this wonderful event again in 2026.
Study with the college that’s truly part of the industry
Our students don’t just study with us – they get plenty of opportunities to meet industry people, volunteer at events, and gain work experience along the way. It makes a huge difference for their skills and confidence when it comes time to enter workforce, and it’s not uncommon for students to already have work lined up by the time they graduate!
