Where Can an ITC Qualification Take You?

One of the questions we’re asked most often is, “Where do your graduates end up working?”
The answer is exciting… and incredibly diverse.
Every year, ITC graduates step into roles across New Zealand and around the world, building careers in airlines, airports, travel companies, hotels, attractions, events, cruise operations and international tourism.
Where do ITC graduates end up?
Some graduates, like Leandri, are helping cruise operations run smoothly. Many graduates get valuable experiences working at Disney World, like Samantha and Meleena. And there are always plenty of students who attend ITC with the dream of becoming flight attendants, then land their dream roles – such as Ruby and Carol.
Others are welcoming guests into leading hotels, creating unforgettable visitor experiences, working behind the scenes at major events, or helping clients plan holidays they’ll remember for a lifetime.
Our graduates have secured opportunities with well-known organisations including Air New Zealand, Menzies Aviation, Swissport, A&K, Cordis Hotel, Sudima Hotels, Disney International Programs and many more. Lynelle is working as cabin crew for Emirates, and Brooke is on the team for Qantas – just to name a couple!
What makes us especially proud isn’t just the names of the companies—it’s the variety of careers our graduates are building. Tourism is the world’s fastest growing sector, offering opportunities for people who love travel, customer service, events, hospitality, aviation and creating memorable experiences.
Graduate Roles
The opportunities available to ITC graduates are incredibly diverse. Our graduates are securing roles in hotels, attractions, aviation, events, customer service, cruise operations, adventure tourism, and even international internships and exchange programmes.
Our Employment Consultant tracks available roles every week, sharing opportunities with students and graduates. One day it could be a flight attendant position with Air New Zealand, the next a guest services role at a luxury hotel, a customer host on a scenic rail journey, or a ski technician in Queenstown.
These are just some of the roles our graduates have landed recently:
- Auckland Cabin Crew for Qantas/Jetconnect
- Food & beverage attendants at both the Airport and City Sudima Hotels
- Sale and Service crew for AJ Hackett Bungy in Queenstown
- Front of house Passenger service Agents for Menzies Aviation
- USA internships at Pendry Park City, Montage Big Sky and Big Cedar Lodge (and more to come)
Whatever your interests, there’s a good chance there’s a tourism career to match, and ITC is here to help you find it.
Working with industry leaders
ITC is known across Aotearoa for the quality of our graduates, the reliability of our training, and the connections we have with industry leading organisations.
For example, Air New Zealand is our national career, and a hugely respected company in the travel and tourism sector.
Of course, we have plenty of graduates who have gone on to work at Air New Zealand, such as Fakavae Taniela and Ruby Cowie. We even have team member who have worked for Air New Zealand, such as Botany Tutor Anna Addison and Ruth Betham.
But more than that, we even host Air New Zealand Open Days, where an Air NZ team comes to ITC for a presentation, before meeting with students and graduates and talking about career opportunities. Here’s just one example of a student who landed a job as a direct result of an Open Day!
Our ties with industry organisations are plentiful, which is just part of what makes studying at ITC so exciting.
