As a leading tertiary provider specialising in tourism, aviation and travel, we support secondary students via short courses, Gateway / STAR programmes, tourism class resources, and more — all designed to educate while sparking students’ passion for our industry. 

We are proud of the work our dedicated team has achieved over the years. This year is our biggest yet! Once again expanding our Schools Team, building new exciting relationships to support tourism education in schools and bringing new schools onboard to provide quality education and resources Nationwide.

ITC Industry Expo connects students with inspiring industry reps

One of the many perks of studying with ITC is the regular opportunity to meet with those in the industry, make connections, and gain real-world knowledge of the roles available in travel and tourism.

The annual ITC Industry Expo is just one of those opportunities, as it invites employers to talk about their workplaces, the roles available, and what it’s like to work there. It’s an event that all current and past students are invited to, and one that always results in incredible feedback from the students and employers alike.

The incredible opportunities of our Schools Team Experiences

Tourism Experiences introduce high schoolers to the incredible world of travel and tourism.

Back in 2024, ITC launched a new service for high schools – Experiences.

These Tourism Experiences offer high schools the ability to offer their year 12 and 13 students a chance to enjoy travel and tourism experiences from an industry-recognised provider. These courses invite students to study for a day per week for seven weeks during term time, where they will get hands-on training, with practical skills and knowledge, all from the tourism industry professionals at ITC.

ITC Students WOW Trade Manager on Work Experience

Tourism Events Queensland recently hosted a VIP Brand Launch, with networking opportunities, a spa activation, a seated dinner, and formal presentations. Trade Manager at Brand USA Elaine has brought in ITC students for work experience in the past, and once again put the call out to see if any students would like some incredible experience at an industry event.

Two students – Ladelle James and Natasha Hilton – both signed up immediately.

“Their duties included supporting the general event setup, helping prepare the welcome area, greeting and checking in guests, managing the coat check and name tag distribution, and assisting with guest movement into the networking space. Toward the end of the evening, they also helped distribute gift bags and ensured guests were reunited with their coats and belongings,” explained Elaine.

ITC’s newest team member grew up around tourism and hospitality, so it’s no surprise that her career has been rich in travel and tourism experiences.

Not only has Daria built a career on her love of tourism, but she also made the decision early on to share those skills with others. That’s how she ended up as the newest member on our team, and that’s why we’re so excited to have her on board to help lead our students towards their own incredible careers!

Meet Manuri: A recent Study From Work graduate who took the HR micro-credential to support her management role

Manuri Mudalige recently completed the HR micro-credential with Study From Work.

Did you know that Study From Work offers NZQA-accredited micro-credentials? This micro-credentials are designed for those already in the workforce who are looking to upskill and improve their knowledge.

Manuri Mudalige recently completed the HR micro-credential, which offers 15 credits at Level 5. She was already working in a HR role, but wanted to further upskill and expand her knowledge.

We took the opportunity to ask Manuri a few questions about her experience!
