Meet the super-mum who earned her qualification with kids at home and a full-time job!

Posted on 30/08/2023 by

Super-mum Hitty studied from home to earn her qualification from ITC.

At Study From Home and ITC, we often meet incredible, hard-working people. Recent graduate Hitty Sarpal is a great example.

Hitty chose Study From Home for the flexibility, as not only did she have young kids at home, she also worked a full-time job! Her hard work and dedication is proof that with motivation and will-power, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

We asked Hitty a few questions about her studies, how she managed it all, and what she wants to do next.

We’ve already spoken to Bea Terreblanche, who has already left NZ on her grand Disney adventure. Now we’re excited to announce that her fellow ITC graduate Frederick Corbett has also ventured off to Disney.

Posted on 10/08/2023 by

After graduating from ITC in Whangarei, Robert Stiff landed an incredible job with Bluebridge.

Robert Stiff was originally a short course student at Kamo High School in Whangarei, but it wasn’t long before he was hooked on tourism and enrolled for the Level 4 Certificate at our Whangarei (North Tec) campus.

Today, he’s working in an incredible job (that doesn’t even feel like a job, according to him), and considering his options for studying for a Level 5 diploma!

We recently caught up with Robert to learn more about his inspiring journey. (more…)

ITC Schools Team launches our first ever Achievement Standard

Posted on 09/08/2023 by

Our first ever Achievement Standard provides a strong foundation in marketing basics.

ITC’s Schools Team is excited to share their very first Achievement Standard, which has recently been approved by NZQA.

This Achievement Standard is focused on marketing, which is an integral part of travel and tourism and a large career possibility for students who might enter into Destination Marketing in the future. That said, students who complete this Achievement Standard will come away with a great foundation in marketing principles that can be applied to any industry.

ITC has been working hard to create this new resource, which will be available in high schools across New Zealand as a Short Course.

ITC graduate and Disney alumni Shania Wheatley shares her wisdom and advice

Posted on 13/07/2023 by

We catch up with graduate and Disney alumni Shania to hear her advice for students looking to follow in her footsteps.

Shania Wheatley is an ITC graduate who moved to Auckland to study with us in 2016 and never looked back.

She landed a job in 2017 and was accepted into the Disney Exchange Program, and like many young graduates in the last few years, the pandemic threw a spanner in the works – but her positive attitude and hard work saw her come out on top.

As we lead up to this year’s Disney Exchange Program, we thought now would be a great time to catch up again and ask about her time with Disney, and if she has any advice for new students.

ITC Schools Team delivers two Flight Attending short courses in Napier

Posted on 12/07/2023 by

Our Napier Flight Attending short courses were a huge hit for students.

Napier and the entire surrounding region has had such a challenging year that ITC wanted to step in and help out the best way we know how – with top-tier education.

So many high school students have had their learning disrupted due to the flooding and ongoing clean-up, so we decided to offer two short courses on Flight Attending.

Michelle Newsome took the first short course, and Laura Orsbourn took the second. Both team members are relatively new to the Schools Team, but absolutely knocked it out of the park and did an incredible job in Napier.
