We’re open! Start your travel & tourism studies now

Posted on 10/01/2024 by

We’re open again this week – so you can kick start your career with us now!

There’s nothing quite like New Zealand over the silly season, when work and school close down for the break, the weather celebrates (in some areas, at least), and we all get some time to relax.

Now, we’re excited to kick off a New Year, and even more excited to welcome our students back into the classroom so they can kick start their careers in travel and tourism.

We’re open right now, and taking enrolments for new students!

Enrol at Auckland City Campus

Looking at studying right in town at the Auckland City Campus? We’re enrolling during business hours from Monday to Friday right now.

You can enrol to earn the New Zealand Certificate in Tourism Level 3 with a strand in Tourism and Travel, which starts at the city campus on February 12. This is an entry-level qualification that will teach you all the fundamentals about working in the industry, so is a great option if you’re not sure where to start or what you want to do.

Or, you can take your studies to the next level with the New Zealand Certificate in Travel Level 4, which also starts on February 12 (or if you’re not quite ready to start studying just yet, we also have start dates for this course on May 27 and July 15). This course is designed for anyone who has completed level 3 with us, or who has completed NCEA level 3 and has some work experience already. This continues your training in the travel industry, with a focus on international travel.

Enrol at the Whangarei Campus

You can enrol at the Whangarei Campus any time by filling out our enrolment form, but if you’d like to check it out first, you can also come along to one of our two FREE Open Days this month.

These days are scheduled for:

  • Wednesday 17 January 2024 – Anytime between 10am-2pm
  • Wednesday 31 January 2024 – Anytime between 10am-2pm

We have limited spaces available for our level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Tourism with a strand in Tourism and Travel, which starts on February 19 at the Whangarei Campus.

Why study travel and tourism?

Travel and tourism has been booming across New Zealand, and 84% of tourism businesses are feeling optimistic about the coming months.

Internationally, the industry is also looking incredibly bright, with the International Air Transport Association (AITA) reporting that airlines are set to see record revenues in 2024.

“People love to travel and that has helped airlines to come roaring back to pre-pandemic levels of connectivity. The speed of the recovery has been extraordinary,” explained IATA Director General Willie Walsh.

Overall, it’s a hugely positive time for tourism, which means that it’s a great time for students to earn a qualification and be spoiled for choice when it comes to finding their first job in the industry – and taking their first step into an incredible career in travel, tourism and aviation.

We’re so excited to be back at work helping students take these steps, and we’d love to hear from you if you’re interested in learning more, or enrolling in one of our industry-recognised courses!
