Travel and tourism jobs: Here’s what we have our eye on right now!

Posted on 08/07/2026 by

Our Employment Consultant Sarndra (top right) is dedicated to helping graduates find work.

Did you know that ITC has a dedicated Employment Consultant? That is, someone purely dedicated to keeping an eye out for travel and tourism job opportunities around New Zealand, who helps ITC students and graduates to apply for those roles.

And considering the number of jobs out there, and how many of them are being filled by ITC graduates, you’d never know there’s a tough jobs market amongst other sectors!

Sarndra, ITC’s wonderful Employment Consultant, is excited for what’s shaping up to be an incredible few months for our students and graduates.

“There are so many exciting opportunities on the horizon! A large group of students will be interviewing later this month for roles with the fantastic team at NZICC. We’ll also be welcoming International Working Holidays (IWH) back to campus to share opportunities at the prestigious 5-star Sea Island Resort in Georgia, USA. And that’s not all, the Disney recruiters will return to recruit students for the January 2027 Disney Cultural Exchange Program.”

We’ll also be hosting our Annual Industry Expo, where students can connect with employers, explore career pathways, and build valuable industry relationships.
As the tourism, travel and aviation industries continue to grow, employers are already looking ahead to the next peak season and preparing to recruit talented, job-ready people. It’s an exciting time to be studying, with strong demand across the industry and fantastic career opportunities waiting for our graduates.

Read on to see which jobs we’re watching right now, and to see how some of our graduates have been going on their job hunts!

AND, a dozen ITC graduates have been accepted into the Disneyworld August intake! These students will soon be jetting off to start their adventures, and you can guarantee that we’ll be sharing their stories soon.

Not to mention the Cruise turnaround season will be kicking off again in October, students are lining up for the next NZICC intake and  many more students are attending job interviews, so there are likely more job offers in the works right now!

Unparallelled job support

One of the many reasons our students and graduates love their time at ITC is because that time doesn’t end once they graduate.

Instead, our team continues to work with our graduates – even for years afterwards – supporting their search for roles in the industry. Through CV and cover letter writing support, to interview practice, to general advice and tips, to keeping an eye out for relevant opportunities, we provide hands-on, practical support for ITC students every step of the way.

If that’s the kind of supportive environment that you’d like to be part of, it’s not too late to enrol!

Our New Zealand Certificate in Tourism with a strand in Tourism and Travel Level 3 gets started on July 20 at our Whangarei Campus, and on July 27 at our Auckland City Campus. Or, launch into Level 4 with our New Zealand Certificate in Travel, which is kicking off on July 20 at both our Auckland City Campus and South Auckland Campus.
