It might be April 1 tomorrow, but we’re not kidding around – we’re still accepting enrolments for our two-year Business in Tourism Diploma.
Courses start for this diploma at our Auckland City and South Auckland campuses on April 19, so you still have time to enrol and earn yourself a fantastic qualification that will be recognised by tourism and travel operators here in New Zealand and around the world.

What do you learn during the Business in Tourism Diploma?
Our two-year Business in Tourism Diploma brings together five of our top qualifications and certificates, which means you earn a range of skills that will serve you throughout your career.
These courses are:
- New Zealand Certificate in Tourism Level 3 – with a strand in Tourism and Travel
- New Zealand Certificate in Travel Level 4
- New Zealand Diploma in Tourism Level 5
- ITC Amadeus Reservations Certificate
- ITC Cabin Crew Online Certificate
Generally speaking, your first year of study will cover the practical skills you will need to enter the industry. This includes role playing for customer service, site visits to learn about how everything works in the real world, travel documentation requirements, and much more.
In the second year, the focus is more on theory. This is the time to learn about areas such as marketing, human resources, and management, as well as the important topic of sustainability in tourism.
By the time you graduate, you’ll have all the practical skills and theoretical knowledge you need to enter the workforce either here in New Zealand or overseas. Tourism operators will always need skilled and qualified staff, so you’ll have a leg up over those who have never studied for the role.
