More than 200 brightly-clad ITC students hit the streets of Auckland in late March for the ‘Amazing Race’ student event.

On Wednesday March 23, ITC held one of its most popular annual student events: the Amazing Race.

Inspired by the television series of the same name, every year ITC organises a fun, fast-paced race around Auckland Central, as each team battles to win the coveted glory of being first across the finish line.

This year the day went well – despite the rain – with approximately 52 teams competing from both ITC’s City and South Auckland campuses.

The students checked in to 11 popular tourism spots, getting a glimpse of the tourism industry while having fun. Thanks to Aotea Square, Auckland Art Gallery, Albert Park, High Street, STRAY, Fat Camel, Adventure Jet, the Cloud, Maritime Museum, Silo Park and Saint Patrick’s Cathedral for serving as excellent ‘pit stops’ throughout the day!

First place went to the wonderful ‘Team M-CAB’ who won an amazing prize: a trip to the Bay of Islands with Stray and BASE X5).

Second place went to ‘Team ANGELS’, who won a night’s accommodation at Nomads Fat Camel plus a $25 voucher to spend at Fort Street Union Restaurant and Bar.

ANGELS: second place winners.

Winners or not, everyone had a great time (although there were several tired faces by the end of it!). Here are some more photos from the day.
