Here is what some of our Level 5 graduates thought about the course:
“I have a better understanding of how management roles work” – Nora Hoff
“Level 5 taught me many things about tourism management, as well as workplaces policies and acts, so if one day I want to run a travel and tourism business I will know what to do,” says Nora, who is currently working as a Guest Service Agent at Sudima Auckland Airport Hotel. She will finish this job in just a few weeks as she is going to live and work at Disney World in the United States.
“If it wasn’t for the Level 5 Diploma, I wouldn’t have got the chance to work for Sudima or go to Disney World,” she adds.
“The job prospects are fantastic” – Mel Tevaga
“There are a huge range of jobs in a variety of sectors – there are endless opportunities,” says Mel, who is currently working as a Receptionist for Novotel Hotels at Auckland Airport.
“Without ITC I couldn’t do anything. I have learned a lot and gained new skills and knowledge. Now, I am so proud of myself,” she adds.
Mel also has some advice for future Level 5 students.
“Always think positive and try and learn as much as you can. Follow your heart – when there’s a will, there’s a way.”
“I got an amazing opportunity to work at Disney World for six months” – Priyashna Devi
“It is beyond me to explain just how beautiful my experience working at Disney World was!” says Priyashna, who recently finished her Disney Cultural Exchange Program and is now working at Fullers.
She loved her time at Disney World, but she’s also happy to be back in New Zealand as she loves her new job.
“I love meeting all kinds of different cultures from around the world, and I think that’s the best part of my job,” she says.
Priyashna adds that the best lesson she learned at ITC was to “never underestimate yourself”.
“You can do it if you believe in yourself, just like I did!”
