Meet the ITC graduate making headlines
ITC graduate Leo Seuula recently appeared on Seven Sharp and the New Zealand Herald.
Does the name Leo Seuula ring a bell? Even if his name doesn’t sound familiar, you might recognise his friendly face – because Leo has been making headlines left, right and centre!
The ITC graduate has been featured on Seven Sharp and the New Zealand Herald, described as “the man living the dream helping thrill seekers jump off Auckland’s Sky Tower”.
Leo works for AJ Hackett, helping tourists and adventure seekers walk around (or jump off!) the ring of the Sky Tower – some 192m above street level.
For most people, this would be a terrifying thing to do once – let alone for your day job – but Leo says he’s living his dream.
“Meeting new people is one of the things I really love,” he tells Seven Sharp.
“They’ll be up here crying, then when they get to the bottom, they’ll be super happy,” he beams.
Leo landed his dream job while he was still studying here at College.
“I heard about doing work experience here [at SkyJump/SkyWalk]. I came here for a week, the boss really loved me, and she gave me a job!”
Speaking of his boss (Tash Lawrence, Sales Manager at AJ Hackett), she was just as proud as ITC to see him on national TV.
Tash posted on LinkedIn: “I remember when Leo came to us for work experience and he brought donuts on his first day. That’s not the reason we hired him but it helped ;). Attitude is everything and this guy just has all the love in the world for helping people. You can’t have him he’s proudly ours!”
Don’t worry Tash, it sounds like Leo is there to stay – the top of the Sky Tower is a pretty amazing place to call your office. Leo loves the epic views, sunrises and sunsets, the thrill, and most of all, the people.
Leo was even present when ITC Project Manager Ceri Jenkins proposed to ITC Domestic Marketing Manager Mel Fey (now Jenkins) during a Sky Walk in 2017 – how’s that for a cool work story?!
