ITC students get epic work experience at Polyfest
Staff and students from the International Travel College of New Zealand (ITC) had an awesome time at the 2019 ASB Polyfest last month.
ITC tourism educator and marketing support person, Daniel Maine, hosted the ITC stall at the event, along with several student helpers.
For ITC students, being at Polyfest was a fantastic work experience and networking opportunity.
Daniel says he was blown away by the students professionalism, passion, and all-round amazing attitude on what was an action-packed, epic day.
“It was important for us to represent the ITC brand at the highest level at the event, and thanks to our wonderful students, we were able to do that – all while having a lot of fun along the way,” says Daniel.
“All of our students were an absolute pleasure to work alongside. They demonstrated that they are customer service champions by being bubbly, helpful, successful, energetic, positive, engaged, team players, and most of all, having a can-do attitude.”
The ITC stall was colourful, vibrant, and attracted lots of interest – not least because of the awesome prizes!
ITC gave away some amazing tourism prizes, including a Bridge Climb, Bungy, Sky Jump and Sky Walk (thanks AJ Hackett!). Other prizes included prezzy cards and an iDance bluetooth speaker.
Daniel says the entire event had an incredible energy and he was stoked to be there on behalf of ITC.
“I had so much fun meeting everyone, seeing the talented performers, and experiencing the culture and diversity,” says Daniel.
“I was also very impressed by Polyfest’s approach to sustainability. It enforced all stalls to provide compostable products and also to promote healthy living by banning hot chips and sweets. It was great to be part of such a forward-thinking event.”
