ITC student Luca Bianconi named best performer in NZ for IATA examPosted on 13/12/2016 by Jess O'Connor
Please extend a warm congratulations to Luca Bianconi, the best performer in New Zealand for a renowned IATA exam.
Luca scored top marks on the Foundation in Travel and Tourism with Amadeus, becoming the fourth ITC student to do so in just four years. He joins Danielle Barham, Anastasiya Kolchunova and Hayley Miles in the ITC “IATA Hall of Fame”.
An international student from Italy, Luca says he thoroughly enjoyed studying for the exam.
“I have always been interested in aviation and I found it quite stimulating,” he said.
The exam covered a variety of travel and tourism topics, including:
- Travel documentation
- How to upsell ancillary services offered by airlines
- How to book rail travel, cruises, car rentals and accommodation
- Airfares and ticketing
- Customers service fundamentals
- How to use Amadeus
ITC International Marketing Manager, Lesley Brough, was thrilled to hear of Luca’s success.
“It’s so wonderful to see another of our international students taking out the best exam results in New Zealand for IATA,” says Lesley.
“We are proud of our strong pass rates for the IATA exam. It’s a testament to the quality of teaching students receive at ITC, and of course to all of Luca’s hard work. Well done Luca!”
Luca loves New Zealand and hopes to find a job that has the potential to lead to residency after he graduates. He is grateful to his tutor John, his classmates, and the rest of the ITC team for helping him advance his travel and tourism studies.
“I love studying at ITC. Classes are relatively small, which means a more personalised link with the tutors. ITC also has strong ties with several companies in the industry – they support each and every student with getting a job as quickly as they can.”
