ITC donates Xmas party funds to charity
In an act of festive generosity, the International Travel College of New Zealand (ITC) has donated over $5,000 to charity for Christmas.
Staff voted to donate to charity in lieu of a Christmas party – and the Auckland City Mission, The Salvation Army, and YWCA were the lucky recipients.
“We donated $2,500 to both Auckland City Mission and The Salvation Army, and $500 to the YWCA,” says Marketing Director Claire Huxley, who is humbled by her team’s generosity this festive season.
“I think it says a lot about our employees, that they would rather donate to charity than have a big Christmas do. I really do believe our team is made up of the most wonderful, kind-hearted people, and this shines at Christmas time!”
This is not the first year ITC has donated to charity in lieu of having a big Christmas function. In 2015, the College donated $5,000 to the Auckland City Mission. Claire is pleased they can continue the tradition this year.
“Above everything, Christmas is about giving, and although big Christmas parties are fun, nothing quite beats the feeling of helping others at this time of year,” she says.
“I know we will all get a lot of enjoyment out of our decision to support those in need this Christmas.”
