ITC celebrates long-serving staff with special morning tea

The International Travel College (ITC) recently celebrated two of its long-serving staff members – Carla Sutton & Sarndra Stephens – with a surprise morning tea.
Both Sarndra & Carla have worked for the College for 10 years this May – and that’s just the second time around. They both worked for the College prior to 2008, but left to travel and raise a family before eventually returning.
“They just couldn’t stay away! We are so lucky,” says ITC Marketing Director Claire Huxley.
“Both Carla & Sarndra bring a wealth of experience to the team. And they are two of the kindest, most dedicated people you’ll ever meet.”
Sarndra says she was “completely surprised” when she was ushered into her and Carla’s 10-year-anniversary morning tea. All the staff were dressed in her favourite colours of red, orange and black to celebrate the occasion.
“I love working for ITC and all the supportive people I work with,” says Sarndra.
She said there was “no question” about wanting to come back to ITC after she spent six years living with her husband in Australia.
“Landing back in NZ six years later with a young baby, there was no question about wanting to return to this amazing company with such incredible people.”
She adds: “I loved the morning tea, all the photos around the room of so many wonderful memories, seeing Karen (the former owner), and of course the champagne was just delicious. Big thanks to Claire, Kerry, and Michelle for the wonderful surprise.”
Carla was also blown away by the morning tea, which she said brought a lot of memories flooding back.
“The last 10 years has flown by, it really doesn’t seem like 10 years!” says Carla.
“With ITC’s help, I have been able to achieve both a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) and a Master of Business. Education is always going to be a passion of mine, whether it’s assisting our ITC students or furthering my own learning.”
Carla considers herself a life-long learner and aims to inspire students to approach education with the same energy and enthusiasm.
Sarndra sums it up pretty well: “Assisting ITC students into the airline, travel and tourism industry is such a buzz”.
We hope both Carla & Sarndra continue to enjoy this buzz for another ten years to come.
