Come visit ITC at Polyfest to go in the draw to win two tickets to Six60!
ASB Polyfest is an incredible annual event that celebrates New Zealand’s cultural diversity through dance. High schools from all over New Zealand head to Polyfest to perform, and to connect with their roots, other students, and all New Zealanders.
This year, ITC will have a booth at Polyfest, where we’ll be chatting with students about our courses and what a career in tourism and travel might mean for you.
Here’s a little more about this awesome event, and how stopping by could get you tickets to Six60!
What is ASB Polyfest?
ASB Polyfest will be held from April 14 to 17 this year at the Manukau Sports Bowl, marking its 45th anniversary.
The festival was cancelled last year due to the pandemic, which is why everyone is extra excited about the event in 2021. We are truly fortunate to be able to gather together and celebrate our culture in such a way this year.
There are five stages across the event, featuring performances from Maori, Cook Islands, Niue, Samoan, and Tongan cultures. A Diversity Stage will also include cultural groups from Fiji, Tokelau, Korea, India, and China.
In all, more than 200 groups from 60 schools compete at the event, with a total of roughly 9,000 students taking part. And of course, more than 90,000 people come to enjoy the performances and cheer on the students.
What began in 1976 at Hillary College in Otara has become one of New Zealand’s most important and exciting events, and we can’t wait to be there.
ITC attends Polyfest
While you won’t find us up on stage, you will find us in the stallholder area.
Specifically, we’ll be located at stall A1-J.
We’ll be chatting to students (and their parents) about what ITC is, our travel and tourism course options, our campuses, and what kind of career you can enjoy with qualifications and training at our college.
Our tutors and sales team will be running this stall to answer your questions and give you all the information you need, and we’ll also have a few of our students volunteering, so you can even chat to them about their experiences as a student at ITC.
And when you stop by to learn about our study options, we’ll even put you in the draw to win one of two double passes to Six60’s Eden Park concert on April 24.
Can’t make it to Auckland for the event? Don’t worry – there will be a virtual option available so you can check out the stallholders and still go in the draw for the Six60 tickets!
So make sure to visit ASB Polyfest this month to soak in some of the most impressive live performances you’ll ever see, and to see us at our stall for a chat about your potential future career in travel, tourism, and aviation!
Be sure to get in touch if you have any questions at all, or simply can’t wait to find out more.
