Teacher personal development day with Disney recruiters at ITC a magical success

ITC is dedicated to supporting education in New Zealand, with a particular focus on travel and tourism for students. That said, we know that Aotearoa’s teachers are absolutely vital for the education of the next generation – which is why we also provide free personal development days for teachers on occasion as well!
Recently, we became the first education provider to offer a free personal development day with Disney Recruiters presenting.
The Disney Cultural Exchange Program and ITC as a preferred provider
The Disney Cultural Exchange Program works to connect students, such as those at ITC, with international working opportunities at Disney properties overseas. In fact, we recently got behind the scenes at the brand-new Disney housing complex in Florida to learn how students live while they’re overseas!
With our stellar reputation for the high quality of students that come through our doors, ITC is a preferred provider with this program. Disney will only accept students from preferred providers, making us a wonderful pathway for those looking to take on this incredible adventure.
So when recruiters visited ITC in early September, we were lucky enough to be able to open the invitation up to schools to attend the presentation.
What we learned
Disney recruiters Heather & Roy were on site to tell students, teachers, gateway and careers advisors about the program. We learned about the requirements for students, as well as the roles available, and what this program can mean for future opportunities for those students.
We welcomed more than 20 different representatives from various schools in the region, making the day a huge success.
Plus, we also had students come in from Botany, Auckland City, and Whangarei to complete interviews for the chance at becoming a Disney Exchange student in future.
During the day, a student called Charelle created an incredible video about the whole experience. Not only that, but she created it in Te Reo Maori! Check it out below to get a touch of the magic of the event through her lens.
