Meet the graduate who landed a job in Noumea after studying with ITC
An ITC graduate recently started working at Le Meridien Resort and Spa in beautiful Noumea.
Océane Beaudarel is one of ITC’s recent graduates, but she originally comes from France.
Océane came to ITC to learn about the tourism industry and improve her English – two goals that she excelled at once she arrived!
And now, Océane has just started a fantastic new job as a Reservations Agent at Le Meridien Resort and Spa in Noumea. The hotel is part of the prestigious Marriott Group, and is located on a spectacular beachfront lagoon location. It’s an incredible role, and one perfectly suited for someone bi-lingual like Océane.
We caught up with her to see how she’s going, and how ITC helped with her getting the job.
What made you decide to study with ITC?
I’ve decided to enrol with ITC for a reorientation of my studies to learn tourism basics. As English language is my second language, my idea of studying in an English based school has enhanced my decision towards ITC NZ.
How did you get the job at Le Meridien?
I applied to Le Meridien Resort & Spa once I finished my Level 5 at ITC and came back home to France. I did the interview in French and English as well, and the week after they offered me the job.
What are you most excited about with your new job?
I’m excited to deal with international and local customers, to apply my skills and gain experience over time.
How did ITC prepare you for your current role?
I have learned so many subjects at ITC that improved my communication skills and problem-solving skills. I am also confident about my knowledge on tourism industry.
What would be your dream job?
My dream job is not defined yet. I’d like to work in hospitality or a travel agency as a reservation manager.
