Napier and the entire surrounding region has had such a challenging year that ITC wanted to step in and help out the best way we know how – with top-tier education.
So many high school students have had their learning disrupted due to the flooding and ongoing clean-up, so we decided to offer two short courses on Flight Attending.
Michelle Newsome took the first short course, and Laura Orsbourn took the second. Both team members are relatively new to the Schools Team, but absolutely knocked it out of the park and did an incredible job in Napier. In Schools, News | Tagged Flight attending, ITC in Schools, Schools Team, Short courses | Leave a reply
ITC doesn’t just offer our own students training and education in travel, tourism, and aviation – we also have a dedicated Schools Programme that delivers short courses to high schools all over the country.
These short courses offer students the opportunity to earn NCEA levels 2 and 3 credits, and enjoy a taste of what the tourism industry is really like.
This is the time of year students make their decisions about further education beyond high school. At ITC we are here to make this process as easy as possible. One way we do this is by offering this process at their high school. One of the many pathways ITC offers into the travel and tourism industry is through our short courses in high schools all over the country.
These short courses span just one to three days, but they can be the start of a lifetime in the industry.

It’s the start of a new year, but it’s undoubtedly a new year unlike any other. With so much upheaval, it’s been hard to tell if students are even thinking about their study options.
ITC is off to a positive start this year, meeting our future 2021 students. Recently we had the pleasure to meet three students who have signed up at once following a summer short course at their high school. Short courses for high school students: Will you go on an epic adventure or pick up extra NCEA credits this summer?Posted on 29/10/2020 by Hayley Clark
The weather is getting warmer already and there’s no doubt summer is on its way, although it may look a little different to what many students had in mind this year. With international travel off the cards, some won’t be heading away for holidays, while others won’t be heading home as planned.
With that in mind, Education New Zealand has launched a country-wide initiative to help support high school students this summer. The Great Kiwi Virtual Summer Fair is taking place this weekend on October 31 to offer inspiration and advice about enjoying the country the Kiwi way these holidays, whereas NauMai NZ is available to help students work through their options about staying or leaving the country.
Here at ITC, we’re offering two incredible short summer courses; the first to entertain and inspire, and the second to help students gain extra NCEA units. For many secondary school students, attending a short course at the International Travel College (ITC) is the first time they experience life at tertiary level.
It can be quite daunting, leaving the familiarity of high school and travelling into the city for a course taught by an unknown teacher, in an unknown environment.
That’s why the team at ITC strives to create a warm and welcoming environment for every student that enters its doors. From the moment they step into the college, they are part of the ITC family.
