Words to live by: “Effort always leads to something good”
Studying is hard work sometimes (although it’s also a lot of fun). Sometimes it requires effort, commitment, and sacrifice. But you know what is great about putting in effort? It almost always leads to a reward of some kind.
We were reminded of this recently thanks to wisdom in the For The Interested newsletter. The writer, Josh Spector, included this sage piece of advice:
Ponder that, for a moment.
“Effort always leads to something good.”
Those are some words to live by, don’t you think?
Next time you feel tired or unmotivated, remember that putting in effort will create opportunities you can’t even imagine right now.
You don’t need to map out your dream career or visualise where you will be in the next five years. You simply need to keep putting in effort and trust in the process. Trust that putting in effort alone will open doors you didn’t even know existed.
Our graduates understand how this works. Thanks to the beauty of hindsight, once they get a job in the tourism industry they look back on their time at ITC and realise it was hard work — effort — that got them to where they are today.
“Definitely work and study hard, you’ll eventually get to where you want to be. Take those small steps and don’t give up. Jump at any opportunity that is given to you,” says Mikaela Rivers, who is now working at The Broadmoor Hotel.
Another graduate, Jessica Adamson, has similar advice.
“Study hard. If you put in the work, you will have endless possibilities at your doorstep!” says Jessica, who works for Stray Limited.
The moral of the story? Effort is where the magic happens.
