Where are ITC graduates working now?

The JUCY offices; one of the many tourism businesses where ITC graduates have found work.

ITC’s number one goal is to help our students find work in the airline, travel and tourism industry when they graduate.

We have a dedicated team of employment consultants who mentor students (past and present) on things like job applications, CV writing, work experience and more.

“Nothing makes us happier than seeing our students get jobs in the industry,” says Sarndra Stephens, an employment consultant based in the City Campus.

“We celebrate each and every student’s success and love to see them putting their qualification to good use in all corners of the tourism sector. From airport jobs to hotel management to flight attending to travel agency work, our graduates are everywhere.”

Here’s a glimpse of some of the places our recent graduates have found work.

  • GO Holidays
  • JUCY Rentals
  • AJ Hackett
  • Quest Hotel
  • Menzies Aviation
  • Cordis Hotel
  • Southern Crossings
  • Sofitel Hotel and Resorts
  • Helloworld
  • Tourism Talent
  • Travelex
  • Nomads
  • AVSEC
  • Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre
  • Anantara Resorts
  • Emirates
  • SkyCity
  • House of Travel
  • Immigration NZ
  • Auckland Seaplanes
  • Qantas
  • Willowbank Wildlife Reserve
  • International Antarctic Centre
  • Disney World (Florida)

One industry employer, TJ McKague (general manager of Nomads Auckland), says he’s come across lots of ITC graduates in the industry and he’s always impressed with their professionalism and dedication.

“I was very pleasantly surprised with the number of people that I personally know that have come out of your school and are now permanent members of the tourism industry, not only in NZ but in Australia as well,” says TJ.

One of the reasons why ITC’s job placement rate is so high is because ITC staff take great care to place the right students in the right work experience opportunities.

“When I arrange placements, I try to match the student very carefully with the employer so they can get the most out of their work experience,” says Ruby Wade, a tutor at the Christchurch campus.

“All of my students were extremely successful with our recent work experience program. Most of them were offered jobs but unfortunately some could not accept straight away due to study commitments, but it’s opened up many opportunities for the future. I’m extremely proud of them all for maintaining such professionalism and leaving a great impression on the industry.”

    Good evening,
I’m interested in studying travel and tourism online. What courses can you offer?
I have graduated in Germany 20 years ago as a teacher. Now I’m a NZ citizen now and interested in a new career. Traveling is my passion and I always wanted to start a career in tourism but never had the chance.
Could you please send me some brochures about options?
    My address:
    12 Bell Avenue, Cromwell 9310

    Thanks and kind regards,
    Nicole Gacitua
