School ball season is over – now what?
The school ball is one of the highlights of the year for some students, but for others, it’s the only thing really keeping them at school.
As much as we will always encourage students to complete their studies, we also know that if high school is just not for you, and if you already know you won’t be turning up for the rest of the year, then it might be time to look at other options.
Study travel and tourism and graduate this year!
Plenty of ITC’s students didn’t enjoy or do well in high school – then ended up coming to us and studying for a dream career instead! Just read this recent interview with graduate Cyrus, who was failing year 13 and is now working for AJ Hackett.
Studying travel and tourism is a great way to continue on with your studies and earn a valuable, industry-recognised qualification. However, instead of studying science and English and all the usual high school subjects, you’ll be learning about customer service, cross-cultural communication, and all the foundational skill you would need to get a job in travel, tourism, or aviation.
Plus, our level 3 courses are just 20 weeks long, so if you enrol now and start in July, you’ll be graduating in summer. That means you’ll finish at the same time as you would if you stayed in school, but now with a qualification that could be your launching pad to an incredible job with the busy summer tourist season!
FREE info session events coming up in July
We’re hosting three completely free info sessions in July so you can come along and learn about ITC and everything we offer:
- International Exchange event
On Tuesday July 9, we’re hosting an event where you can come and learn about the international opportunities available to you. You’ll meet an expert from International Working Holidays and hear about the programs that can set you up with an international exchange. You’ll take a quick tour of our campus, and hear from our Employment Consultant about all the options.
- Enrolment Day event
On Wednesday July 17, we’re hosting an enrolment day across all our campuses! This is the day to join to ask any questions you might have, check out our campus facilities, and learn more about where an ITC qualification might take you. You’re welcome to bring a friend or family member along with you as well.
- Flight attending event
On Thursday July 18, we’re hosting a flight attending event. Many of our students join us with the goal of becoming a flight attendant (and many of our graduates go on to land those roles!). By coming to this free event, you’ll learn how our qualifications can set you up to become a flight attendant, either here in Aotearoa or overseas.
- Whangarei Open Day
On Thursday June 20, we’re hosting an open day for our Whangarei campus between noon and 2pm at the Apprentice Restaurant. Come along to learn about our courses, what your life would look like as a student with us, and where a career in travel and tourism could take you!
Learn more about these events and let us know if you’re coming here!
