ITC supports Discussing Tourism for a better New Zealand

10 May 2018

The International Travel College is a major sponsor of Discussing Tourism 2018 events.

When it comes to the future of tourism in New Zealand, there is plenty to discuss. That’s why the International Travel College is a major sponsor for Discussing Tourism 2018.

Organised by Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA), Discussing Tourism is designed to encourage robust discussion about the key challenges and opportunities facing the tourism industry.

Discussing Tourism is coming to three cities next month: Auckland (June 13), Queenstown (June 19), and Christchurch (June 20).

ITC is a major sponsor for the Auckland and Christchurch events, as the College has campuses located in each of these cities (two in Auckland, one in Christchurch).

“We decided to sponsor the Auckland and Christchurch events to demonstrate our commitment towards helping the industry prepare for the future,” says ITC Marketing Director Claire Huxley.

“We are particularly focused on helping the industry meet its high demand for skilled, experienced tourism workers. We provide a valuable resource for employers and students as we educate the future tourism workforce of New Zealand.”

These one-day events will include presentations, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and more.

“The Discussing Tourism events will be lively and thought-provoking,” says TIA chief executive Chris Roberts.

“With great support from the host region tourism organisations, we’re looking forward to hearing from grassroots tourism operators around the country.”

Claire looks forward to participating in discussions and sharing learnings from ITC’s 22 years as a leading tourism education provider.

“We’ve been educating the tourism workforce for over two decades, so we’ve learned a thing or two along the way! I look forward to sharing our perspective and learning from other local businesses. I know the topics discussed will be invaluable to our current students and generate discussion in the classroom for weeks to come,” says Claire.
