ITC Graduation 2014
Friday the 13th was not unlucky for the latest batch of ITC graduates; in fact, it was the perfect night to celebrate our graduates’ success as they embark on the next chapter in their lives.
One of the most important aspects of study at ITC is the focus on industry-relevant training, and we are grateful, as always, to the members of the travel and tourism industry who contribute so much to our graduation celebrations.
Guest Speaker Gavin Oliver, Managing Director of Ecozip Adventures, kindly came along to watch future industry successes take to the stage and to share his journey through the industry. He provided laughs and dropped some impressive names, but most of all he provided motivation and encouragement to fire a spark in all the graduates.
Thank you also to the wonderful people of our industry who not only attended the night to scope out the talent but who graciously donated gifts for our special awards. We give warm thanks to the Langham Hotel, Ecozip Adventures, Jucy, Stray Travel, Sky Jump Auckland, Great Sights & Intercity, Nomads, Auckland Bridge Climb & Bungy, 360 Discovery, Fullers and Explore NZ.
We have always been proud of our vibrant multicultural college and the graduation ceremeony celebrated this with students wearing traditional dress. Everyone also loved the fantastic performance by FOBSQUAD, who certainly knew how to entertain a crowd. On the back of their Miss World NZ act they treated us to a mixture of cultural and current dance moves, while lathered in oil!
Congratulations to all of the students who graduated on the night, in particular Kaufo’ou Fonua and Mohammed Alzergawi who were both awarded Student of the Year from our Botany and City Campuses. And congratulations to the family, friends and staff who supported our graduates along the way. We are all excited to see them off and watch as they find their way in the exciting world of travel and tourism.
