Student Bloggers Facebook Post

What’s it really like to be a student at the International Travel College? We have recruited a team of student bloggers to bring you the inside word about what’s happening around ITC.

The bloggers will be writing articles about college life – here’s a little bit of information about them all. Keep an eye out for their blog posts in the near future!

Viena

Viena Arona

Talofa Lava. My name is Viena Arona, I’m 19 years of age and I come from Samoa.

I have five brothers and three sisters and I’m the second oldest. I’ve been in New Zealand for about 5 years and 5 months now. I used to go to Kelston Girl’s College and I am now studying Level 3 and Level 4 at ITC.

My interests include sport, music and singing. I sing in a youth band and enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds.

THREE QUICK QUESTIONS WITH VIENA

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would love to go to America because I want to explore the American life. I would also love to taste the great variety of food and I hope to get a chance to work at Disney World.

Do you have a favourite place you’ve visited?
My favourite place I’ve visited is the beautiful island of Samoa.

If you could have any magical power what would it be?
Make myself disappear to another country whenever I feel like it… LOL!

Wes

wes blog

People call me Wes, I was born in South Africa and moved to New Zealand when I was 17 years old and am now about to turn 25. The first time I flew overseas was actually when I moved to New Zealand, I had never crossed the border before that.

My first year in New Zealand was spent living in Christchurch, and from there I moved to Auckland and have been loving it ever since.

Some of my interests include travelling, surfing, camping and anything to do with the great outdoors.

THREE QUICK QUESTIONS WITH WES

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, it would be a tug-of-war between France and Spain, but I would have to choose Spain. For as long as I can remember I have always been intrigued by the Hispanic Culture, and Spain has always been a dream destination of mine. Hopefully someday Spain will be more than just a dream…

Do you have a favourite place you’ve visited?
The places I’ve been to are limited as I haven’t done much travelling yet, but of all the places I’ve been, I would definitely have to say Singapore is my favourite. I just thought it was an absolutely stunning country with such a strong and proud culture and heritage.

If you could have any magical power what would it be?
This is an easy one. I would have the magical power of being able to fly, just so I wouldn’t have to pay to fly on airlines ;)

Fia

Fia

My name is Fiailoa Siafausa, I use ‘Fia’ for short because sometimes my name is either too hard to pronounce or I just mostly respond to Fia. I am 18 years of age and was born in the islands of Samoa and immigrated to this beautiful country of New Zealand when I was three years old. I am the oldest of 5 sisters.

I am a very friendly person, I am easy to get along with, and I enjoy making new friends and interacting and communicating with people. My main passions are music and sports. As for my everyday hobbies I enjoy reading books, especially trilogies because I dislike it when a good story comes to an end.

I also enjoy having different styles every once in a while so I tend to dye my hair, change different looks or even have different clothing types. I also make up my own songs using my own experience and putting this into lyrics. I sometimes jam on my guitar and never seem to stop taking photos or be off social media. My family and girlfriends are my motivation – they help me get through the rest to get to the best.

THREE QUICK QUESTIONS WITH FIA

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be?
There’s a lot of things I’ve wanted to do in life such as a big O.E. with a few close friends. I’ve always wanted to visit Paris because of the perfect scenery and views and also because the romance sparkles in the city of lights.

What is your dream job?
I would like to be a flight attendant for a couple of years before I make my dream come true and become a police officer. I want to become a cop – it will make my dad proud. I would also love to be a photographer because I love taking photos. I believe a picture can tell a whole story; for example a photo of someone smiling ‘shows happiness’ and to advance it ‘smiling means they have been through a lot but they manage to smile.’ I like to think out of the box sometimes.

If you could have any magical power what would it be?
It would be for me to be able to fly to see the world and to travel the world itself.

Kelsi

CV Pic

My name is Kelsi, I’m 25 years old and I moved to Auckland to study at ITC! I grew up in Taranaki (hardcore!) and my parents were dairy farmers. I’m a country girl at heart and the big smoke is somethin’ else! I love discovering new places, but nothing beats going back to my home town.

I’ve travelled to a few places and lived overseas twice. I was 17 when I went on a student exchange and lived in Phoenix, Arizona, USA for ten months. This is when I caught the travel bug and since then travel has been my passion. I’ve seen some spectacular sights, met some fantastic people and been in some interesting situations! I’d do it all again in a heart beat!

THREE QUICK QUESTIONS WITH KELSI

MorroocoIndiaScandainviaTurkeyAfricaArgentinaCanadaGreeceCarribbeanFrance pretty much anywhere and everywhere.

Do you have a favourite place you’ve visited?
I don’t have one favourite place I’ve been to; they were all pretty neat and I’d go back to them all.

If you could have any magical power what would it be?
And if I could have a superpower, you know it would be instant teleportation to get there!
