Highlights from Global Wednesday 2016
Every year the International Travel College of New Zealand (ITC) celebrates cultural diversity with a fun student event called ‘Global Wednesday’.
Students are put into groups, and each group is assigned a different country from around the world. They are then tasked with teaching their fellow students about this culture through preparing traditional meals, wearing authentic costumes, and delivering presentations.
Both the City and South Auckland campuses are transformed into vibrant hubs of colour, fancy dress, and delicious food. Below we’ve shared some of the best pictures from the event. We’re already looking forward to next year!
The food
The opportunity to sample traditional food from all around the world is always a highlight of Global Wednesday, and this year was no exception. The students did an amazing job at preparing authentic cuisine.
The costumes
ITC students sure know how to dress up! Everyone put an enormous amount of effort into their costumes, which made the day feel extra special.
The performances
At the end of the day, every group put on a live performance, such as a dance or skit. These were really entertaining, and we’re so proud of all the students who got out of their comfort zones and performed in front of their peers.
