Frederick Corbett: The ITC graduate who just left for the Disney Exchange Program!Posted on 16/08/2023 by Hayley Clark
It’s been an exciting year as we have caught up with a number of ITC graduates who went through the Disney Exchange Program. Now, things are about to get even more exciting as we cheer on the students who have been accepted into this year’s August intake.
We’ve already spoken to Bea Terreblanche, who has already left NZ on her grand Disney adventure. Now we’re excited to announce that her fellow ITC graduate Frederick Corbett has also ventured off to Disney.
Of course, we had to catch up with him to see how he’s feeling about the program!
What are you most looking forward to during the Disney program?
Being part of a large team of like-minded people and having the opportunity to be away from what I’m used to in terms of everyday living, such as meeting many different people from different cultures.
Is there anything you’re nervous about?
Being in another country by myself and not knowing anyone, but at the same time I like that I’m nervous about it.
How did ITC help you through the application process?
I wouldn’t have ever known this program was a thing if it hadn’t been presented to me. Sarndra has always had my back throughout the whole process and was always supportive and cheering me on.
Sarndra had this to add: “Some students come to ITC knowing they want to apply for the Disney Program and then others, like Freddie, come to ITC open to all the amazing options and opportunities that come their way. I was super excited for Freddie when he let me know that he wanted to apply, and I can’t believe that he and Bea are already there. I am looking forward to emails and photos from both Bea and Freddie and sharing in their adventures. They also know that when they return to NZ, ITC will be here for them on their next step in getting a fabulous job in the travel, tourism or aviation industry. We are still in touch with many of our Disney graduates and I haven’t met a single one yet that would not go back and do it all over again if they were able to.”
What are your ultimate career goals?
As corny as it sounds I just want to enjoy and be proud of what I do.
You could be heading away on the Disney Exchange Program in 2024
January 2024 might feel like a long time away, but it’ll come up faster than you can imagine.
We already have a wonderful group of students from our City, Botany and Whangarei campuses who have just booked interviews for October when the Disney recruiters come to ITC next. They will be joining the Disney January 2024 intake.
And right now, there’s someone considering enrolling at ITC, studying with us next year, and applying for the Disney Exchange Program. And this time next year, we’ll be interviewing them as they pack their bags to head overseas for the opportunity of a lifetime!
Could that person be you? There’s no reason why it couldn’t.
