ITC has added a new course start date for our New Zealand Certificate in Tourism with a strand in Tourism and Travel. This level 3 course begins at the Auckland City Campus on July 12, and takes 20 weeks to complete, so you’ll be graduating at the end of the year!
Here’s more about this fantastic course.
What does the Certificate in Tourism entail?
This five-month course is the perfect introduction to the tourism industry. It will teach you all of the basics you’ll need to know to enter countless roles in tourism and travel, including destinational geography, customer service skills, travel requirements and documentation, and much more.
While standard classroom learning is part of the course, you’ll also enjoy and learn from exciting field visits where you see some of New Zealand’s top tourism providers and attractions in person. You’ll also hear from industry guest speakers who will tell you about what it’s like to work in tourism and travel, and you’ll have the chance to ask them your questions as well.
During your course and once you graduate, our dedicated Employment Consultations will be on hand to offer advice and support in everything from creating the perfect CV, to actually helping to connect you with current roles available.
ITC has created a great reputation amongst industry providers in New Zealand, which is just part of why our graduates are so well regarded amongst employers.
Recent reviews about our courses
After our courses, we ask our students for their feedback so we can continue to improve. Here are a couple of our most recent reviews so you can get an idea for what actual students think!
“I have been studying at ITC for over a year now and compared to other institutions for example University of Auckland, ITC is more intimate. You don’t sit in a lecture full of 300 other students, you roughly have 20 students if not less which means it is more intimate which is beneficial for both the student and tutor. ITC tutors show compassion for what they do and what they have done and share their personal experiences in the industry. They offer a big support system so you are assured to achieve and get into the industry with the knowledge that you gain while studying here.” – Sinead M.
“ITC Auckland city campus helped me a lot and gave me the ability to finish my certificate while I was unwell. It’s was fun and enjoyable thank you.” – Jessica C
