Counting down the minutes: 4 incredible ITC students are heading away to the Disney Cultural Exchange program!

Posted on 17/08/2022 by

Four talented ITC graduates have been accepted into the Disney Cultural Exchange program.

In April, we were excited to announce that the Disney Cultural Exchange program was once again getting started after taking a break during the pandemic. Not to mention, ITC was thrilled to know that we are one of their preferred providers!

Now, we’re counting down the minutes until four of our wonderful graduates head overseas to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Here’s a little more about the program and the four amazing students soon to be packing their bags for the trip.

The Disney Cultural Exchange program

The Disney Cultural Exchange program gives graduates a chance to work in the world-renowned Disney resort. It offers a huge variety of roles, so graduates can gain experience in all sorts of jobs and perhaps even discover a passion that will shape their careers.

It is a highly sought after program, and there are a number of requirements students and graduates must meet before they can even apply, but we’re over the moon to say that all four ITC graduates who applied this year have been accepted.

A big part of their success is thanks to Employment Consultant Sarndra, who has kept in touch with Disney Senior Recruiter Joe Iglecia-Scholl, and who has supported the students throughout the application process.

“Once they applied I contacted Joe with personal recommendations for each student, which guaranteed them an interview. From there I was able to give the girls some good tips and advice for the interviews, and work with some of them on how to overcome aspects of their shyness,” explains Sarndra.

Sarndra was also quick to encourage the four girls to get in touch with one another for support and advice.

“We are all keeping in contact and I am so incredibly excited about the journey they are about to go on, and about all the opportunities that are going to open up for them. I can’t wait to see all their photos of them in their Disneyworld roles, meeting new people and having fun in all the different parks, and then ultimately, helping them find work back here in NZ when they return.”

Our four ITC graduates heading to Disney

Both Sarndra and the entire ITC family are so excited for Kahu, Mele, Faifili, and Linda, and will be looking forward to hearing about their adventures and the experiences they gain while overseas.

Of course, we also asked the girls what they were most looking forward to about their journeys!

Mary Feiloakitau

“It has always been a dream of mine to work at Disney and getting to meet so many different individuals from all around the world is what I’m excited about. I have an uncontrollable level of excitement as the day of my trip draws near, it feels so unreal!”

Kahurangi Bray

“The most exciting part about being a part of the Disney cultural exchange program, is the new experience I get to embrace into my everyday life, but also being able to walk away with such an amazing opportunity. But I’m more excited about being able to travel again!”

Linda Ka-Eun

“I’m so excited to be one of the cast member at Disney World. I can’t wait! It will definitely be an unforgettable memory in my life.”
