Naturally outgoing personality, self-confidence and ease with people confirmed her a fabulous place in the busy and customer-driven American Express Travel environment. Dealing with American Express customers as they redeem their rewards for international travel, Collette gets to demonstrate her superb communication skills with a wide range of people and takes great professional care when helping them to make the right travel decisions.
“As Galileo is a major part of my job I am grateful for the depth of study on this central reservations system that I had at ITC. Every aspect we covered at ITC I have experienced in my job. The variety of subjects studied ensured that I had a good idea of every area of the industry. Damon
Is thrilled to at Go Holidays. His role in the Adventure division is utilising the many skills he has acquired in his time with ITC.
“I completed level 3 and level 4 and then decided to go further and complete my IATA qualification. One of the key things that I have learnt which is crucial for this industry is how to deal and communicate with people of different ages and cultures. Having to be at class on time and in business dress has really helped to prepare me for the real word! I am definitely better at waking up early in the morning now!” says Damon.

MelissaHaving completed her courses with ITC, Melissa was well equipped with travel industry skills and knowledge to begin her career. Now working as a Reservations Consultant at Rail Plus, Melissa is responsible for writing quotes for world-wide rail travel, making and confirming booking, ticketing and documentation.
“What I learned at ITC gave me a fantastic grounding and many practical skills that I use in my job on a daily basis.” Melissa said. “The role plays really helped to build my confidence in talking with customers on the phone. It is so neat that I could do a relatively short course, gain the qualifications, and so soon be out doing a job that I love!”

Ha
After finishing University in Vietnam Ha spent time working for an airline. Her passion for travel and desire to learn more about the travel and tourism industries saw her join The International Travel College.
She decided to do the IATA course. Coupled with her prior industry experience and her desire to work in retail travel this was the perfect choice. After graduating from her course she landed a fantastic role with STA Travel as a Sales Support Coordinator.
What does Ha like most about her job? “Where do I start! I love the team dynamics here and the support that you get. Being able to be involved in decision making and being responsible for those decisions is challenging and rewarding.”

Kristine
Completing two years of study at ITC, Kristine achieved travel, tourism and computing qualifications at Levels 3, 4 and 5 to gain the best possible start to a professional future. All the effort has ensured that Kristine has achieved a great place for herself in the industry.
Working as a Travel Consultant with China Travel Service means Kristine is putting all her training into practice as she consults with customers regarding their world-wide travel needs, books their flights and tours and arranges their visas. “ITC gave me a general overview of the travel and tourism industries and opened up the first step into work.” said Kristine. “I gained skills that are extremely helpful in my work, but most of all I was able to develop my personal attitude to meet business standards.”

There are several ITC graduates now working in various roles in the busy Auckland office of Travelplan. From sales consultant, ticketing consultant and final documentation processing, the students are enjoying the buzz of working for this popular wholesaler!
Chris has been working as a ticketing consultant at Travelplan since his course finished at ITC. “I knew straight from school that I wanted to work in travel, but didn’t have the right qualifications. The course at ITC gave me the right qualifications for employment in the Industry and more importantly helped me get this job!” he said.

Theresa
Had always dreamed of working for an airline. “I knew from a very age I wanted to travel the world and work in the tourism industry , so studying at ITC seemed like a great way of getting the qualifications and skills needed to work for an airline.” she said.
Theresa really enjoys working at Auckland airport for Air New Zealand. Her job involves checking in passengers who are travelling all over the world. “The International Travel College provided a great environment to learn – the tutors made learning fun and they have helped me to start a new and exciting career path ”said Theresa. “The College helped me build confidence and self esteem which enabled me to secure this great job!”

Veil Atwell
Was an ITC scholarship student from Avondale College. She had always demonstrated a passion for the Industry and loved meeting new people.
Her role involves making reservations for oversea's train journeys all over the world, issuing documents, quoting for itineraries and helping plan clients’ trips overseas. “The working environment is a lot of fun at Rail Plus. I love to talk to clients and helping them is a great part of my job” said Veil.
During her training Veil really enjoyed learning about Galileo and is now using those skills regularly. “The course at ITC has helped me in so many ways, from the IATA exam to personal presentation, all of this has helped me in my day to day job” she said

Tejpal
Was successful in gaining employment whilst still studying at ITC. “The college helped me understand lots about travel and tourism, I really enjoyed studying, even though sometimes it was hard work” he said . The courses ensures that ITC graduates are trained in the right areas when looking for work in the travel and tourism Industries.
Tejpal's role as a Tour Consultant involves selling domestic travel, accommodation, attractions and activities within New Zealand. Working in an extremely busy office, his day is easily filled with meeting different and interesting people who are visiting New Zealand. “I really enjoy meeting new people and I love helping customers plan a successful holiday,” he said
Tejpal has already enjoyed some of the benefits of working in tourism, travelling all over New Zealand where he has already experienced bungy jumping, skydiving, black-water rafting and much more!! Now that sounds like hard work!

Motiana
Had always had a real interest in travel and tourism and was keen to study this when she finished her exams.
She is one of the many ITC students eployed by Go Holidays in Auckland, enjoying the busy life that comes with working for one of New Zealand’s leading wholesalers. For ITC students this has provided great employment opportunities, appealing to those who enjoy a busy and varied working environment.
“It’s such a big industry and there’s so much to choose from. I also love being around people so I thought travel would be perfect for me! ITC helped me make the right choices throught my studies and into my first job” she said.

Hayley
Ddecided that she wanted a career in travel and tourism at school. “I knew the travel and tourism industry was people orientated and wanted a career that was exciting and interesting!” said Hayley.
The role involves plenty of customer service experience, delivering hire cars to clients and making reservations on the phone. “I love meeting different people from all walks of life, each day is different and I get to drive some really cool cars as well.” said Hayley laughing, we have already seen her driving past the College in a black convertible Mercedes!!
“Studying at ITC was a really good decision for me, it prepared me for my current role and showed me different aspects of tourism, so I could make the right choice when looking for a job” said Hayley. “Thanks a lot ITC, I am much more confident now and this helps me when I am serving clients”

Eddie
Was a very popular student at the College, he always managed to make everyone smile!
“The College helped me understand lots about travel and tourism, I really enjoyed being at ITC, even though it could be hard work!” said Eddie.
Now he is working at the City Life Hotel in Auckland where he gets to meet and greet guests from all over the world. “I love my job, I’m so thankful that I got this job and into this Industry, it is just so much FUN!!” said Eddie. He has also been awarded ‘Employee of the Month’, which just shows what a good job he is doing!

Abby
Had her heart set on joining the travel industry very early on, with a love of travelling and keen to have a career where she would work with lots of people.
“I knew I would need to study travel and tourism, and enrolled with ITC. The course offered me a lot of ‘real world’ training. I thought this was very important because it would help me into work quickly,’’ she said. The people skills training on the course was very important for Abby, she felt her progress at the Sheraton has been good because of the skills she gained at ITC.
Abby started with a part time role at the Sheraton whilst she was still studying at ITC, and now working there full time. “I really enjoy the personal contact with the guests, knowing that I have helped them gives me an enormous amount of job satisfaction.’’ We all know that Abby will do really well in the industry!
