Interested in becoming a flight attendant? If so - read on!

A key component of all International Travel College courses is the inclusion of our unique flight attending training. The training has been developed in consultation with international airlines, and includes the key ingredients a new entrant into the industry would require before applying to an airline for a flight crew or ground-based position.  ITC also offers all students the opportunity to undertake a cabin crew preparation course endorsed by the airlines. This qualification is only offered through The International Travel College of New Zealand.

Our in-house flight attending training provides students with an overview of:

  • The flight attending role
  • Airline industry requirements
  • Practical safety demonstrations
  • Skills and qualifications required for flight attending employment
  • Airlines recruitment processes
  • Airport Check-in duties
  • Passenger safety and comfort
  • Practice of in-flight service

ITC includes a comprehensive flight attending workshop in all their programmes

Information is provided on recruitment practices within airlines operating in Australasia, Asia and Europe.

A comprehensive Airline Directory is available for students who follow through to airline applications.

ITC staff are able to assist and advise all students on many job opportunties within the world of airline, travel and tourism. Industry trained, she is able to offer interview and recruitment tips, for students applying for a job within an airline.

Airport training centre provides students with a real environment for training

It is important to note that all airlines deliver their own in-house training for new recruits to flight attending. This is standard international practice, and ensures that each airlines' safety and service standards and procedures are closely followed.

This means that prior to securing a position within an airline there is no external (College based) dedicated flight attending training course that airlines require or recognise in connection with their recruitment of new flight attendants.

We recommend that students check with airlines prior to enrolling on any dedicated flight attending courses.

Students interested in pursuing a career within an airline should consider the Certificate in Travel and Tourism or the Certificate in Airline & International Travel Agency Operations. Both courses include training in international air travel, international fares & ticketing, airport and terminal check-in procedures, together with the full flight attending workshop training.
